Recognition

Toni’s rise to basketball stardom began at Bishop Hartley High School from which she graduated in 1982 after amassing 1,623 career points as a point guard for the Lady Hawks. She earned All-League Honors with a honorable mention as a freshman, following up with 1st team selections her three remaining years. All-State Honors included: honorable mention (soph), 1st team (jr), 2nd team (sr). Toni was selected to the All-American 5th team as a junior and led the Hawks to a 79-23 record over her career. She also led her team to State Runner-Up (‘79), State Semi-Finals (‘81), and Regional Finals (‘80 & ‘82). Toni accepted a scholarship to display her basketball skills for the Ohio State University’ and helped the Lady Buckeyes achieve four consecutive Big Ten titles. She was team captain her senior year and claimed honors on the All Big Ten 2nd team along with the Dr. Brown Leadership Award. After graduating from OSU, Toni had a short stint as assistant basketball coach at Stetson University (‘87), graduate assistant at OSU (‘87-’89), head women’s soccer and assistant women’s basketball (‘89-’92), head coach Bishop Hartley (‘92-’97). She has been honored as Coach of the Year (‘93) Ohio Athletic Conference and District Coach of the Year (‘95 & ‘96). Roesch was a television and radio color analyst for ESPN, Comcast and Fox (2000-2010), and has been a television and radio color analyst for WBNS and OHSAA since 1997.
