GCBLA Eligibility Criteria
Inductees were selected under the following criteria:
- Outstanding performance in basketball as a player, coach, media expert, administrator, or supporter/sponsor;
- Contributor to youth development, business, education, or improvement to social affairs beyond basketball;
- Application of one’s academic skills in life to benefit youth and society;
- Recognized by peers and others who possess knowledge of your basketball talents and who were willing to nominate you for your athletic and or academic achievements resulting from your participation in the game;
- Awards received (i.e. All-conference/league/city, All-State, All-American, MVP, coaching awards, media recognition, etc.), postseason success, leadership, outstanding achievement in basketball, national or international recognition/honors, athletic or professional success while in or after high school, college, professional, or recreational, semi-professional levels of athletics;
- Display of sportsmanship and citizenship and ambassador to the game.
The Eligibility Criteria is subject to review and revision, in whole or in part, by the GCBLA at any time and without public notice. Inductee/Awardee nominations are subjected to the sole approval of the GCBLA and/or its appointed selection committee.
