Recognition
Jim graduated from Columbus North High School in 1959 where he played as a center/forward and earned All-City honors all 3 years of varsity basketball. His sophomore and junior years saw North amass a lofty 50-3 record. As a senior, Jim was co-captain of the Polar Bears and was named to the 2nd team Associated Press (AP) Ohio All-AA team. Doughty was a standout player for Ohio State where he returned to graduate in 1970. He played semi-pro basketball with the Columbus Comets and played professionally with the Harlem Globetrotters in 1963 and 1964. Jim has worked the last 30 years with the federal government and now resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
