Recognition

Ed Stahl, a 6’10” center for the Walnut Ridge of the Columbus City League, was a dominant figure in the Scots 1971 run for the Ohio AAA State Championship. WR finished Ed’s senior season with a 25-0 record to capture the title. Ed earned All-League and All-State honors in both his junior and senior years. As a senior, he was named Ohio’s AAA Player of the Year and he participated in the Dapper Dan Classic. Stahl received a scholarship to play basketball at the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill where he was coached by the Hall of Fame coach Dean Smith. He played professionally overseas in Venice, Italy, 1975-76 where as their leading scorer, finished 3rd in the country. He played in Genoa, Italy in 1977-78. Ed’s professional career outside of basketball brought him back to the US where he found success in various fields of employment but he lists as his most rewarding venture in business as the owner and operator of Shot Doctor Basketball, USA for nearly 30 years (1986-2015).
