Recognition

Elaine Boltz engineered a sterling 30 year coaching career. Coaching the Northland HS Lady Vikings of the Columbus City League, she racked up a impressive record of 381 wins against 173 losses, which included a dominant run in capturing the OSHAA AAA State Championship in 1982, giving Northland the first of its big school state championships. Elaine accomplished a unique feat by serving her entire teaching and coaching career at only one school, Northland HS. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1970 (where she had played on the OSU women’s basketball team for 4 years), Boltz jumped right into the fray coaching varsity girls basketball and volleyball from 1970 through 2000. She enjoyed much success in both sports.
