Recognition
Dean graduated from Eastmoor High School in 1962 where he played basketball for Coach Bill Courtney. Dean was a versatile forward/guard who earned All-City honors as a Sophomore, Junior, and Senior, and as a Senior was the City League scoring leader, led the Warriors to the City League championship with a 16-1record, named All-City 1st team, and named to the UPI All-Ohio 2nd team and the AP 3rd team. As a highly regarded recruit, he chose the University of Cincinnati and as a freshman, played for the 16-0 Bearcats. He played as a sophomore and started as a junior and as a senior the team advanced to the NCAA’s Elite Eight. In 1970, Dean played on a US team in Greece that went 17-1 in international competition. Since graduation from UC, Dean has been awarded the Elis Island Medal of Honor and has earned a MBA Degree from Xavier University. He now resides in Lake Forest, Illinois.
